Fans were wowed Saturday night as the San Jose Wolves dominated with a 48 – 16 win over the Ogden Knights in the Wolves inaugural preseason game. This game marks the return of indoor/arena football to the Bay Area and brings bay area fans hope that the Wolves domination continues into the season, something that they have sorely missed.
The Wolves next scheduled game is the Saturday March 20th Regular season opener against the Alaska Arctic Predators.

The San Jose Wolves are proud to announce the hiring of former Arena Football League great Steve Papin as Offensive Coordinator in advance of the 2010 AIFA season. Steve Papin finished his Arena Football career as one of the best offensive players to play the game. Steve entered the Arena Football League in 1996 with the San Jose Saber cats and played four seasons with cats. During his time in San Jose Steve was named “don’t blink” player of the year twice. Steve still holds several Arena Football League records and finished his career with the New York Dragons in 2003.

Larry Thompson was regarded as one of the best Defensive Specialists during his playing career in Indoor Football. Larry won three consecutive championships Odessa Roughnecks (2006) Lakeland Thunderbolts (2007) and the Florence Phantoms (2008) as a player. His career accomplishments include the NIFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2005, the AIFA single season interception record with 28 in 2007 and the 2007 AIFA Defensive Player of the year.
Larry Thompson is a great addition to our club, he was a heck of a player and his knowledge and heart will translate to the players well. I have worked with Larry as our star DS on our previous teams I always looked at him as a coach on the field so it’s a natural fit” said GM Bennie King
